I got a job at Zumiez! O noes, I guess that means I can't watch L&O SVU all day anymore, but it does mean I get some dollas in the bank. It is a retail job, but at least I'll be selling cool stuff, working with cool people, and NOT listening to billboard crap all the time!
I also bought a bunch of bike shit today. New chain + NOS suntour 5-speed freewheel + ball bearings + all the bits and bobs I need to overhaul the bottom bracket and remove the old freewheel. I am suuuper psyched about fixing it and having a not squeaky bike with a dying freewheel!

This is AWESOME. Seriously. I love it, all of it: the horse, the response, the challenge. I'm actually pretty impressed with the Tyler kids for coming up with this. And I agree with their intention, it is about time that the art schools form a community, rather than live and work in their separate bubbles.

The comments on these articles are priceless. It eventually turns to UARTS SUCKS, NO TYLER SUCKS, ART INSTITUTE ISN'T A REAL SCHOOL. Serious lolz. So uh, maybe it's not really fostering community after all...
And of course, c-list missed connections about the incident: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

So last night, I was involved in such a heated discussion over who was the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle that my beer got spilled onto the floor (by Chris, who ran away right after the incident, but then eventually replaced my delicious PBR on tap).
So, who do YOU think is the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?
(Hint: the correct answer is Raphael)

whether this is ugly or pretty:

I would wear it... but that's not really saying anything.
Opinions?
At least the colors won't blind you.
I really feel like I need to re-do my portfolio... Clearly, my current one hasn't gotten me anywhere. I need to do all computer prints, a better range of scales and colors, more geometrics and way more florals. I'm so not in the mood for flowers right now, so I'm working on geos for now...

I want to be able to countdown the final seconds of Bush's presidency... like new year's, only... uh, more political.
This pic is an oldie but goodie (from '05 I believe), but I will share it once again in Bush's final sendoff:

The ocean sunfish/mola mola!! I saw these guys at the Osaka Kaiyukan (Aquarium) over the summer, but didn't snap a good pic of them (too dark). I think they are ADORABLE. I love their little stoopid looking faces.
I just felt compelled to share the mola mola luv!!!

For one, in case el-jay bites the dust... I have also been wondering what to do with this thing... Do I still really need to be posting stuff about my life on the internet to a site that like 5 people still read? For now, I'll keep this thing, post sometimes friends-only, and keep the new one to show off my creative efforts.

Dear Economy,
I hate you.
Signed, Bronwyn
p.s. I went all the way up to Brooklyn with Kyle yesterday, and all I got was a sandwich. Not any of the three nice apartments that we looked at.
Hooray!

[18 Dec 2008|12:07am] |
Thanks to a text message from my fave R5, I now have tickets for super small (only 150 tickets!!!) show of Cursive at the Barbary.
HOLY CRAP. I'm excited.
The last time I saw Cursive, I scored some tickets for the very sold-out show after R5 posted a MySpace bulletin announcing they put up some extra tickets the day of the show.
Thank you R5 for coming up with new and creative ways to keep me informed and keep me seeing Cursive!
Yay!
